A Women Writers' Retreat
"A Writer's Dozen" (Ways of Looking at Water)

A weekend retreat of guided exercises for those women who benefit from a combination of intensive exercises and reflections upon craft.
Expect to find new images, directions, and inspirations for your work in a beautiful setting. Writers in all genres are welcome.
Deborah L. Humphreys, SC has been active in the artistic development of women’s writing and expression for many years. A “poet in community practice”, she has a Master’s Degree in both social work and interdisciplinary fine arts. Her work appears in anthologies, literary magazines and in multimedia presentations and performance. Currently Deborah is a member of the Leadership Team of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth.

Gardener's Retreat; "How Does Your Garden Grow?"

Gardening lovers are invited to spend the weekend together reflecting on the toils, tools and treasures of co-creating and nurturing your inner/outer gardens. Using the garden metaphor present in Scripture, poems, songs and nature we will listen to a presentation, engage in personal and group prayer, plant starter seeds/ bulbs for your gardens and make the spiritual connections with what all ‘earthlings’ need in order to grow into Gardener God’s image and likeness. Please bring garden gloves and basic hand tools.
Presenter: Nancy Erts, OP holds degrees in education and theology and has completed additional work in psychology, holistic and eco-spirituality. She has been involved in the ministry of adult spiritual development for over 25 years.

Sister Catherine Morrisett, SC is a staff therapist at Grace Counseling Center in Madison, NJ and a certified Imago Relationship therapist. She is a Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and a Clinical Member of the Association of Imago Relationship Therapy.

Winter Afternoon of Reflection - "Grieving Our Losses"

Presenter: Sister Grace Reape, SC
Loss comes in many forms – the death of a loved one, life-threatening illness, separation or divorce, unemployment and the list goes on. This day will assist those who are mourning discover how to grieve in a healthy and healing way.
Sister Grace Reape is a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth who has served in education, administration and congregational leadership. Presently she serves in full time Hospice ministry at Compassionate Care Hospice in Clifton, NJ.

Day of Reflection; "The Universe Story and Growth in the Interior Life"
Saturday, March 24th, 2012, 10am – 3:30pm. Day concludes with 4pm vigil mass for Sunday.
Major developments in science and theology challenge today’s believers to look at new ways of understanding and appropriating traditional faith values.
Drawing on insights from the “Universe Story”, this day of reflection is intended to suggest new ways of envisioning the mystery of the Triune God, to encourage a deeper spiritual life and to offer hope for Christians as they continue their journey of faith. The format will include presentations, sharing and questions.

Msgr. Edward Ciuba, former professor of Scripture and Rector/President of Immaculate Conception Seminary; former Pastor of Notre Dame Parish, North Caldwell, NJ; well known and gifted speaker, experienced retreat director, now resides in Presentation Parish, Upper Saddle River, NJ.

Morning of Reflection - "Amazing Grace-Full Aging"

We have been aging since the day we were born, but as we grow older we become a bit more conscious of it. However, our elder years offer us many amazing opportunities to grow in and with Grace.
We will explore together various and helpful ways to age with grace-full-ness. Our day will include insightful presentations, reflective time and Eucharistic liturgy at the side of the ageless sea.
Msgr. Joseph Ciampaglio is a priest of the Diocese of Paterson, ordained in 1962. He is the former pastor of St. Anthony Parish, Hawthorne and St. Clement Parish, Rockaway Twp. He was the Director of Catholic Charities and Clergy Personnel for the Paterson Diocese. Presently he is a Global Fellow for Catholic Relief Services.

If you find your life filled with meetings, e-mails, dancing lessons and soccer games, work and ministry challenges, and desire some refreshment by the sea, please join us as we listen to the deeper story of Creation and find ourselves in relation to our shared ONENESS with Christ our Light, the universe and one another.
The day will include prayer, quiet time, ritual and faith sharing. Together we will explore creation and our responsibility as its stewards. Awe and amazement of the wonders of God’s creation will be the gifts we take home.

“Our Lady of Sorrows” is a title that is familiar to many of us. A less known devotion is the “Seven Joys of Mary” that portray the experiences of joy in her life.
How did she and how do we discover the presence of God within these seemingly contradictory experiences of life?
Sister Patricia Dotzauer, SC is the Assistant Administrator and Program Director of Maris Stella. She has served in education, religious formation and vocation ministries. Sr. Pat holds a Master’s degree in Religion from Fordham University, NY, with a concentration in Spirituality and Spiritual Direction.

Dreams are a revelation from the divine assisting us to our True identity in God. To record, work on dreams and to enact their meaning will lead to our individuation process and to be in harmony with God's deepest desires for us.
This intensive program assists in understanding dream work as true religious practice for discernment and prayer. The presentations integrate both Jungian and Christian perspectives.
Brother Don Bisson, FMS, is a spiritual director, trainer and supervisor of directors. He is widely respected as a commentator and workshop leader on the interrelationship of spirituality and psychology. A Marist brother based in New York, he has graduate degrees in liturgy, spirituality, and transpersonal psychology. He earned a D. Min.at the Pacific School of Religion in the area of Spiritual Direction and Jungian Psychology.
