The holiday season begins with Thanksgiving and it is no sooner over and planning and preparations for Christmas are thrust upon us! How easily the season of Advent can get lost!
Advent (from, "ad-venire" in Latin or "to come to") is a holy time of preparation that can lead our hearts and minds to the deeper meaning of our lives and Christmas.
Before the rushing and busyness begins, the Saturday before Thanksgiving offers us the opportunity to experience a day in the quiet stillness of God that leads to the peace and hope we all long for at Christmas.

“And the word of love had again been made flesh, having germinated in the somber days of winter.” John F. Kavanaugh SJ
Through poetry, music and short spiritual exercises, this interactive workshop is designed to provide the space to explore ways in which we can take in what is life-giving and discard that which limits our freedom and growth. How can we open ourselves to Emmanuel, God with us?
