As we gather on retreat at the shore, we recall that Jesus called many of his first disciples along the shore. On this retreat, we will look at how the Scriptures describe the ways Jesus called followers long ago. We will consider how Jesus continues to call followers throughout history – and how he calls us!
We will consider different qualities of Jesus that people experience in their encounter with Him, including our own – and how we respond.
The retreat will include two daily conferences, daily Mass, an opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and ample quiet time for prayer and enjoying the surroundings.
Retreat Presenter: Fr Charles Pinyan is the Vicar for Clergy and Director of Clergy Personnel for the Archdiocese of Newark. He is also an adjunct professor of Pastoral Theology at Immaculate Conception Seminary, Seton Hall University. He has served as Pastor at several parishes and has been a member of the archdiocesan Presbyteral Council, Priest Personnel Policy Board, Liturgical Commission, and other advisory boards. He is a member of the Catholic Association of Teachers of Homiletics.
This Retreat will be conducted in an atmosphere of quiet, conducive to prayer for oneself and others.
Quiet is maintained especially in the common areas and bedroom floors of the houses.
Retreatants will share conversation at all meals.
