Learning to love in a hostile world
Monday June 15 – Sunday June 21, 2026
We will delve into ways to deal with the negative speakers and actors in our lives. Using meditation, music, and prayer, we will get in touch with the loving kindness that we are called to share with not just those we like but those we do not.
Fr. James Worth, VF is the pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Maplewood, NJ. He is an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University in South Orange, teaching religion and faith in the Core Department to freshmen and sophomores. He is also a professional musician singing and playing keyboards up and down the East Coast and abroad. He is a student of Fr. Richard Rohr, OFM and incorporates his message into retreats and presentations regularly. He gives Solace Musical Meditations bringing peace and calm to dozens of faith communities. He is a writer and composer as well as a spiritual director. His radical approach and humor lines up with the extravagant love Jesus calls us to share.
This Retreat will be conducted in an atmosphere of quiet, conducive to prayer for oneself and others. Quiet is maintained especially in the common areas and bedroom floors of the houses. Retreatants will share conversation at all meals.
